Summary of Event:
The original comprehensive course for treatment of flexor and extensor tendon injuries to the hand! In this seminar flexor and extensor tendon anatomy as well as tendon healing mechanisms are reviewed and discussed. The most current treatment protocols for all types of tendon injuries are presented.. Included are detailed splinting and exercise protocols for all levels and types of injury. Evaluation and treatment of common complications is presented with a case study discussion lab. Lecture presentation of post-operative management of surgical tenolysis and tendon grafting completes the didactic material. The hands-on splint fabrication labs compliment lecture presentations. Participants will have the opportunity to fabricate post-operative splints, as well as splints designed for exercise or tissue stretching. There are a variety of splint designs presented so that participants can work at their own skill level. The comprehensive course manual also includes splint patterns and fabrication instructions available exclusively at this course.
