Course Seminar Date & Time: Monday, June 1, 2020 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Registration closes for this course on Monday, May 4, 2020Kinesio University Pre-Requisites:In order to attend the Kinesio Taping® Advanced Techniques and Clinical Reasoning (Day 3), each attendee must have completed Kinesio University approved KT1 and KT2 Kinesio Taping Assessments, Fundamental Concepts and Technique courses***Certificate of Completion may be requested to verify attendance***Kinesio University requires that all attendees are required to have completed the following:1. Must have completed 80 course hours of anatomy and physiology2. Must have a working knowledge of the musculoskeletal system3. Must be able to do assessments by evaluating and/or diagnosing injuries and conditions4. Must have achieved or is a student in their junior or senior year (transcripts must be provided) working towards one or more of the following credentials: ARNP, ATC, CAT(C), CCSP, CDP, CHT, CLT, CMBT, CMT, CNMT, COMT, COTA, COTA/L, CPO, CPT, CPTA, CRN, CST, CT, DC, DO, DOM, DPT, Lac, LAT, LLCC, LMBT, LMP, LMT, LOT, LOTA, LPT, LPTA, MD, MDT, MLD, MOT, MOTR/L, MPT, MT, MTC, NCMT, NCTMB, NDT, NMD, NMT, NP, NRC, OCS, ODT, OMD, OPA, OT, OTA, OTC, OTR, OTR/L, PT, PT-C, PTA, PA, RMT, RN, RPT, RPTA, SLP, Paramedics and Kinesiologists. This course offers a brief review of the basic taping and assessment concepts learned in the first Day 2 course. Advanced taping techniques and assessments are presented as Lecture Tutorials to introduce step-by-step applications for chronic edema, scar and fascial management, nerve taping, as well as acute and chronic pain management. Participants will be offered ample lab time to practice each advanced technique guided by the Assessment Flowchart for clinical decision-making. Case studies are presented for designing a clinically relevant application within a treatment program guided by the instructor. Case studies are then introduce for small groups of students to practice the variety of assessment techniques and advanced taping applications. Upon completion of this course and pre-requisite KT1, KT2 seminar, attendees will be eligible to request and take the exam to become a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP). Students may request to take the exam, but will not receive CKTP certificate until they graduate. Students will need to bring scissors and dress appropriately - you will need to be prepared for trunk, upper and lower extremity taping (Tank tops, shorts or similar clothing is recommended to wear during class).Instructor: Elizabeth G.
